Guards fear layoffs

Killer absconds from Sudbury open prison
PRAGUE/UK (Derbyshire) 23rd August - Ashley Squires, aged 27, serving a 12-year sentence for manslaughter has absconded from an open prison in Derbyshire. He failed to return to HMP Sudbury over the weekend.
Squires' last known address was in Leicester.
Inmate escapes from Colorado prison
PRAGUE/USA, COLORADO 23th August – Law officers in northeast Colorado are searching for a 48-year-old inmate convicted of attempted murder who escaped from a maximum security prison.

PRAGUE 30th July – The Minister of Justice Jiří Pospíšil appointed Jiří Tregler the acting Director General of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic. His main tasks will be the revision of the expenditure of the PS CR, revision of its financial matters and revision of the public orders. Other tasks will be within the field of the PS personnel, leading to decline of the amount of staff especially at the Headquarters of the Prison Service CR (PS CR).
