PRAGUE (JULY 5) - At the end of June, Czech Prison Service welcome representatives of the Prison Service of Hungary, including its Director General, and the Hungarian Commissioner for Fundamental Rights.

A delegation of eight representatives of the Hungarian Prison Service and the Hungarian Ombudsman's Office arrived in the Czech Republic for a working visit.The visit took place at the request of the Hungarian ombudsman, who wanted to get acquainted how the Czech Prison Service operates in practice. The aim of the visit was to learn about the activities of the Ombudsman's Office in relation to prisoners in the Czech Republic and Hungary.

As part of the program, the delegation visited the Liberec Remand Prison, Brno Remand Prison with prison hospital and forensic detention facility and also stopped at the office of Czech Public Defender of Rights. During these visits, presentations and round table discussions took place, where both sides shared their positive and negative experiences, innovative practices but also challenges for the future.
