Jiří Tregler in the leadership of the Prison Service

PRAGUE 30th July – The Minister of Justice Jiří Pospíšil appointed Jiří Tregler the acting Director General of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic. His main tasks will be the revision of the expenditure of the PS CR, revision of its financial matters and revision of the public orders. Other tasks will be within the field of the PS personnel, leading to decline of the amount of staff especially at the Headquarters of the Prison Service CR (PS CR).

Jiří Tregler was born in 1957 in Sušice. He has been working for the PS CR since 1986. He gained his initiate experience in the prison management during his nine years service in the Prison Horní Slavkov. In 1995 he became the Deputy Director in the Prison Pardubice and five years later he became the Governor of this prison, where he stayed until he was appointed the Director General. Jiří Tregler studied social pathology and prevention and special pedagogy at the Hradec Králové University. He has gained PhD. degree.
Jiří Tregler exchanged the former Director General Luděk Kula. If he fulfils the given tasks within the two months period, he has a great chance to continue within this position in the future.
