Lloyd Hammond sent to prison for life

PRAGUE/USA 23rd August - Life in prison, without the possibility of parole. That was the jury's recommendation several weeks ago, and that recommendation stands now. Lloyd Hammond now goes to prison for murdering William Sawyers, Terrell Cherry, and Kerry Williams.

Killer absconds from Sudbury open prison

PRAGUE/UK (Derbyshire) 23rd August - Ashley Squires, aged 27, serving a 12-year sentence for manslaughter has absconded from an open prison in Derbyshire. He failed to return to HMP Sudbury over the weekend.
Squires' last known address was in Leicester.

His main tasks will be the revision of the expenditure of the PS CR, revision of its financial matters and revision of the public orders. Other tasks will be within the field of the PS personnel, leading to decline of the amount of staff especially at the Headquarters of the Prison Service CR (PS CR).
